Awaken your senses to some of the sights, sounds and smells of
daily life for the Austins, one of Toronto's prominent business
families in the 19th and early 20th century. Explore the grandeur
of their home and discover private experiences of war, physical and
mental health, and social change. Hear about the social upheaval in
Toronto during the interwar years and the challenges and
opportunities experienced by many in the city. Learn about
Spadina's Indigenous beginnings and the stories of hidden figures
of people like Mrs. Pipkin who escaped enslavement before working
for the Austins.
Proof of vaccination is not required for participation in
